 Another year of gaming is gone. Lots of changes our members saw like every year. You ask lots of questions about the usage of our website and its tools, and i will try to answer some of them in this article...
We had some new members to welcome on Ventrilo, squads are no longer a topic on Games HeadQuarters website, but still for the members. But i could still copy the article from last year and will do with a part. Same question where frequently ask then each year: Why is only a small group of members using Ventrilo and the forums, when we have so many members? At the end of 2007 we had 400 registered users and after my yearlymail-check i had to remove around 100 because their email adresses where no longer valid, but we are more then back on that count. Welcome to 145 new members in 2008. The busy players know we only had one hand full joining us on Ventrilo (i am not counting our friends from other squads and groups, and they do not need any longer to create an account on the website to visit us on VT). Some people are using only the downloads, others are reading in the forums but never make a post. And this year a couple where coming to play our arcade games. Not each gamer is familar by using a voiceserver or installing the client (that need support from you). Right now we have 445 registered members and i am not able to answer it for all of them, but maybe you could get some answers by reading the serverstats, but you will see it is'nt realy easy...
This is about the whole domain games-hq.net, incuding squads (before we had to delete those sites) and test websites, but 98% of the traffic is build by Games HeadQuarters. Feel free to use the comments for questions or comments (of course). We still had lots of tryouts to become access to the websites through BAB.stats and Chronos modules by hacking kids - but it seems the hardened module we've installed is taking care of it, the Sentinal is doing its part too of course. Ok, now i will start with the reports, feel free to use the comments for questions or comments (of course).
Yearly usage
January
Most used part of the website was Ambostats (JO) and the Media Album - the arcade game birdflight where the favorite of many peoples, most downloaded the Joint Ops IC mod. Most requests came from germany.
February
Most used part of the website where the Ambostats and Media Album modules, most downloaded the IC mod again. Most requests came from NET domains.
March
Most used part of the website where the Ambostats, Arcade (!) and Media Album modules, most downloaded the SnA mod. Most requests came from germany.
April
Most used part of the website was the Ambostats and the Arcade module, most downloads hit the PWS mod (full installer) and most requests came from germany.
May
Most used part of the website where the Ambostats and Arcade modules, we had not many downloads and most requests came still from germany.
June
Most used part of the website where Ambostats and the Arcade games as a part of the Forums, mostly downloaded was the Friends meeting Friends 2007 movie (ISO and EXE), and most requests came from germany.
July
Most used part of the website was Ambostats, the Media Album and the Arcade modules but we had also a big group using our RSS feeds, not much downloads but the new movie of the meeting was viewed alot, and most requests came from Germany.
August
Most used part of the website where Ambostats and the Arcade module, mostly downloaded was a DFX mod and the meeting movie still used lot of bandwith, and most requests came from Germany.
September
Most used part of the website was Ambostats and the Arcade module again and the RSS feeds are used alot. Mostly downloaded was the just finished movie of the Games HeadQuarters meeting 2008. Most requests came from Germany.
October

I could make more different stats by pages, hits, kBytes, refferers.... and so on. But who will use his time to read, understand and at least find out whats up with wich part of the website. Yes, i do time to time - but you see it is'nt easy to get an complete answer to each of your questions. I will still try to find one - keep asking but be patient.
